Nancy had the privilege of growing up in a loving family and doctrinally sound church. She attended Bob Jones University, where she met her husband, Terry. Terry served in music ministry for 13 years, until the Lord called him to pastor Friendship Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Though Nancy had lived her entire life in a Gospel-saturated environment, she struggled with doubts about her own salvation, and even about the basic tenets of the faith she’d been taught. She saw God as a vindictive judge who required her to live a perfect life so that she would deserve His atonement. Her unbiblical thinking led to chronic depression as she strove fruitlessly to win God’s favor.

In 1995, Terry preached a series from 1 John, during which Nancy came to realize that all her strivings were “filthy rags,” and salvation was ALL of Christ. She placed her complete faith in the atoning work of her Savior, and found rest in “Him that is able to keep [her] from falling, and to present [her] faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy!”

Nancy homeschooled her 6 children, who are now grown and are ministering in the United States and overseas.

Our Traditional Overnight Ladies Retreats

Who is invited:

These retreats are for ladies, college-age and older. Nursing babies are welcome at our one-day-only retreat on Thursday but we ask that all children be left at home for our overnight retreat.

Silent Auction:

We will be doing a silent auction again this year! Bring handmade items, gift baskets, etc. to sell. All proceeds will go to a special fund dedicated to making camp more beautiful! Last year’s proceeds were put toward purchasing curtains for the girls’ cabins

Cost: $85

(Lodging, 3 Meals, Snacks, Activities & Materials)

Check-in: 4:30 pm (no early check-ins, please)

Dinner Served: 6 pm Friday / Retreat End: 4 pm Saturday
